Biography

JAMES WHITE
Born 1966

BIOGRAPHY
James White became actively engrossed in the visual arts in 2001 following years in the music industry. Commencing with painting, his pieces today encompass a variety of media including sculptures composed of lard, electronic devices, resin and more.

White’s works create dialogue, the subjects of which question and encourage change within the onlookers. Yet the artist simultaneously displays the importance of humour - in life as a whole - and one recognizes a balance between questioning & analyzing with dark smiles throughout his oeuvre.

The artist’s first solo exhibition, Everything Is Arranged for Your Ultimate Dissatisfaction, is being premiered in the East End of London, autumn 2009. The exhibition concept may be summarised with the following statement:

In the world of the hyper-real everything that glitters is definitely not gold – James White

At the conclusion of the autumn 2009 exhibition, White will consciously disperse any unsold pieces amongst the twenty-eight artworks displayed. The process cleanses the palette and ultimately presents the artist with a clean slate to facilitate taking his work in new directions.
